How the estimate works
The calculator converts finished wet volume into an estimated dry ingredient volume, then allocates that volume according to the cement:sand:aggregate proportion you enter.
dry volume = wet volume × dry factor
cement volume = dry volume × cement parts ÷ total parts
bags = cement volume ÷ bag volume
Do not treat the ratio as a design specification
Mix proportions depend on strength, aggregate grading, moisture, workability, exposure and project requirements. Use the specified mix or supplier design for structural concrete. This page is a quantity-planning aid, not a concrete mix-design standard.
Why the bag volume is editable
Cement bag weight and yield differ by market and product. Enter the volume or yield stated on the product you actually plan to buy rather than assuming every bag has the same capacity.
FAQ
What is the dry-volume factor?
It is a planning factor that accounts for the difference between finished concrete volume and the loose ingredient volumes used in a simple proportion estimate.
Can I use this for structural concrete?
Use the calculator only for preliminary quantity checks. Structural concrete should follow the approved mix design and project specifications.
