Rebar Calculator

Decision support

What this tool helps you decide

Best for

A first-pass bar count for a specified slab or grid.

Enter

Usable spans, bar spacing, edge clearance, stock length and allowance.

You get

Bars in each direction, grid length and a stock-purchase estimate.

Check before buying

Use structural drawings for bar size, spacing, cover, laps and placement.

What you will get

1. Needed

See the estimated project quantity from your measurements.

2. Buy

Add waste and round to complete bags, boxes, cans, bundles or delivery quantities.

3. Check

Review product coverage, site conditions, local requirements and supplier details before ordering.

Quick answer: Calculate rebar bar counts, total linear length, stock bars, intersections, and approximate weight for slab reinforcement planning. Start with actual measurements, use the product label for coverage or yield, and treat the result as a planning estimate until site conditions and supplier requirements are confirmed.

Estimate reinforcement bar quantity, total length, stock bars, intersections, and approximate weight for early slab planning.

Planning only: This tool estimates material quantity from your layout assumptions. It does not select structural bar size, spacing, cover, lap length, hooks, development length, or reinforcement requirements. Follow the project drawings, local code, and a qualified professional.
Transparent formula

How the rebar estimate works

The calculator places one bar grid in each direction. It counts bars across each usable span, adds the editable waste/lap allowance to total linear length, then rounds the result to your stock bar length.

bars across = ceil((usable span ÷ spacing)) + 1
total length = direction A length + direction B length, then × (1 + allowance)
